A leading financial services organization is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their dynamic legal team and serve as a key advisor on matters related to intellectual property (IP), technology transactions, and broader corporate legal issues. This role is ideal for a seasoned attorney with a strong background in IP law and a passion for supporting business growth through strategic legal guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, licensing, and enforcement.
Advise on technology-related contracts, including software licensing, SaaS agreements, and vendor negotiations.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and protect proprietary assets and innovations.
Support compliance with federal and state regulations affecting mortgage servicing and financial technology.
Assist with general corporate legal matters, including governance, risk management, and regulatory inquiries.
Manage external counsel relationships as needed for specialized IP litigation or filings.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing.
Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a strong emphasis on intellectual property law and trademark.
Experience in financial services, fintech, or mortgage servicing is preferred but not required.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
