Description The Business Planning Assistant Manager is responsible for developing B2B sales strategies for solar systems in the residential market and performing sales support. As a No.1 PV panel manufacturer in U.S. residential market, this job will be focusing on sales strategies for PV panel as well as MLPE (AC module) and ESS products, Qcells’ latest focus, and this position will establish total solutions for residential customers in the long term while managing revenue and day‑to‑day operational data mining to accurately forecast P&L. Robust analytical ability and quick understanding of sales flow and structure in the customer journey is crucial to the role. This position will report to the Senior Manager, System Business Planning, or another member of senior leadership that the President of the Company may designate. This position is based out of our San Francisco office or Irvine office, with an in‑office schedule set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures. Remote options could be considered for exceptional cases.
Responsibilities Sales planning of AC Module and ESS
Monitor business progress on MLPE (AC module) and ESS sales weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
Manage Sales Dashboard and support to establish sales strategies by region and customer based on data analysis.
Product inventory/logistics management and sales support checklist management.
Analysis of sales forecast and sharing forecast to SCM/Operation/Corporate planning teams, etc.
Partner with SCM/Operation team to track order status and sales numbers.
Analysis of sales pricing strategy, based on cost structures and profitability analysis, based on competitor pricing in market.
Receive management feedback and produce various key decision‑making reports.
Understand the solar financial market and collaborate with internal Qcells’ various stakeholders, such as the EnFin Loan team/EnFin TPO team/Axia/B2B Sales team, to develop ACM and ESS sales strategy.
Partner with Marketing/Technical team to develop sales strategy.
Sales team KPI setting.
P&L management
MLPE/ESS business profitability analysis, sales price management support.
P&L management of system business.
Analysis of cost structures and finding of cost reduction points.
Assist in establishing short‑term, mid‑ to long‑term business plans.
Market Intelligence & Market trend analysis
Market trend analysis focused on solar PV/Inverter/ESS hardware.
Build product differentiation points through analysis of major top competitors.
Other market trends and research of new trends and technology.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as Business, Marketing, and/or Finance preferred.
3+ years of experience in Sales Administration, Sales Operations, Data Analysis, and Product Marketing in energy or manufacturing companies (Preference for those with experience in sales planning in the global solar/energy industry or manufacturing industry).
Preference for those with experience in sales, sales planning, marketing, business development, and PM (Product Management).
Preference for those with experience establishing company‑wide business plans.
Preference for those with experience in ROI analysis and business modeling.
Preference for those with experience in analyzing and proposing customer requirements (RFQ, RFI).
Preference for those with knowledge in electricity, energy, etc. or those with a related major.
Preference for those with English/Korean negotiation and communication skills.
Proactive and passionate attitude candidate who can work in harmony with team members and other related departments with greatly excellent communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks.
Self‑motivated, team‑oriented, innovative strategic thinker with a passion for driving results, and a strong sense of personal accountability.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to analyze market trends and customer needs to develop innovative solutions.
Proficient in using MS office productivity software like Google Workspace, Salesforce as well as MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc. Especially well experienced in utilizing data analysis and visualization tools, including spreadsheets and business intelligence software.
Occasional travel to various regions in the U.S. to visit customers and exhibitions.
