The Music Department at Contra Costa Community College is accepting applications for an Adjunct Faculty (part time). This is a temporary assignment that begins in August 2026.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching classical choir and/or jazz choir and/or violin lessons and/or studio recording.
Teaching in a small, conservatory-style program that focuses on transfer-level performance while serving underserved communities.
Operate with a growth mindset, a strength-based approach centered on students, and a commitment to equity, especially in eliminating barriers to college access, success, and completion.
Construct and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in instructional effectiveness.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s in music OR Bachelor’s in music AND Master’s in humanities OR the equivalent.
Desirable: extraordinary interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, a passion for teaching, and effective communication with students to help them achieve educational goals.
Understanding of and sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds and affiliated communities.

Rate: Adjunct instructor classroom faculty pay rate is $77.87-$128.97 per hour (up to $151.16).
