Linux/Elastic Systems Administrator (Mid-Level)

Cimarron is seeking a mid-level Linux/Elastic Systems Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at either Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area or at the Redstone Arsenal in the Huntsville, AL area. Key Duties: Analyze complex data sources and provide actionable insights and recommendations. Deploy, configure, and maintain the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) to ensure scalability and high availability. Develop and manage data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and enriching log data from multiple sources. Design and maintain Kibana dashboards to visualize system performance, security events, and application health. Clean, manipulate, and analyze large, diverse datasets to identify trends and connections. Write scripts and code in various programming languages to automate data processing and analysis tasks. Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures. Present technical findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Required Skills, Experience, and Education: Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include, but is not limited to, testing for marijuana use. This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support when needed. Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. 6 or more years of general, full-time work experience. 4 or more years of directly related experience. 1 or more years of experience working in a management or leadership role. Must have an active DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification with Continuing Education (CE) - (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP). Must have, or obtain, an active DoD 8570.01-M CSSP Infrastructure Support certification with Continuing Education (CE) - (CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, CND). Desired Skills, Experience, or Education: Ability to interpret and integrate data from multiple tool sources for comprehensive analysis. Hands-on experience with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana). Familiarity with technologies such as Kubernetes, Kafka, Puppet, Ansible, Docker, GIT, RHEL, Suricata, Zeek, Neo4J, PostgreSQL, AWS Cloud, and NiFi. Basic proficiency in Python, Bash, and markup languages such as YAML. Ability to identify common coding flaws and recommend improvements. Experience working with Security Operations Center (SOC) or Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) tools and applications, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, Network Security Manager, Bluecoat, and Barracuda. Strong ability to mentor, train, and support team members in a fast-paced, evolving technical environment. Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
