Here at General Motors, we are looking for a hard-working person who enjoys taking on challenges and following through with robust solutions to join our Engine Calibration team! Engine calibration engineers work with vehicles, software, and algorithms to design and release engine calibrations to meet customer designs and performance requirements. They support the lead calibrator and diagnostic strategist, as well as stakeholders including the members of the vehicle platform, engine hardware, manufacturing plant and quality team. Depending on the area of responsibility, a Calibrator may focus more heavily on engine controls, serial data, platform interface, or diagnostic calibration functionality. These roles play a critical part in ensuring powertrain integration achieves world-class performance and aligns with program objectives. What You\'ll Do: Follow/author documented procedures to calibrate systems to meet product goals, and provide feedback for continuous improvement

Help create new procedures to document standard work for new technologies

Design and manage key strategic interfaces within Vehicle Calibration and/or Engine Controls

Help train new calibration engineers on calibration processes

Lead requirements development with other activities

Support root cause analysis

Lead troubleshooting activities for complex system issues across programs

Strong ability to efficiently capture and analyze empirical data.

Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices

Identify and document calibration vulnerabilities and build mitigation action plans; track corrective actions

The area of calibration responsibility could include: Engine Position/Timing

Serial Data & Platform Interface

Electronic Throttle Control

Engine Torque Security

Fuel System Diagnostics

O2 Sensor/Catalyst Diagnostics

Engine Thermal Control/Diagnostics

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related Engineering degree

2+ years of technical and/or manufacturing engineering experience

Experience with data acquisition and analysis on complex problems

Some knowledge of powertrain systems

Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms

Valid driver’s license and ability to operate test vehicles

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): Master of Science in Engineering

5+ years of experience with in-vehicle testing

DRE Experience

Experience INCA/ETAS data acquisition

Automotive OEM experience
