Job Overview This position is a clinician with advance education and clinical practice. Under direct physician supervision, this position manages patients, providing primary health care and case management, focusing on disease prevention, and the management of minor, chronic, and acute illness in collaboration with the collaborating/supervising physician. This position also works in close collaboration with the entire multi-disciplinary team to establish realistic goals and a thorough participant plan of care.
Job Requirements
Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program with a BA/BS plus 2 years post-graduate evaluation
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) and ACLS
NCCPA certification
Passing grade on initial NCCPA board exam and Recertification every 6 years
Physician Assistant
Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal relations and problem solving
Strong interest in acute patient care in an inpatient setting
3-4 years experience Physician Assistant
Job Responsibilities
Performs assessments, histories and physicals and writes treatment plans for patients with the assistance of collaborating/supervising physician and others in the group practice
Demonstrates flexibility and initiative
Demonstrates effective communication skills
Demonstrates competence in the evaluation, work-up and management of acute inpatients
Actively participates in the quality assurance programs established by the department
Continuous learning through compliance with annual required continuing medical education credits
Other Job-Related Information Works as a part of a dynamic, patient centered multi-disciplinary team to provide quality patient outcomes, arrange for appropriate care after discharge and coordination of care with the patient's primary care physician, during the inpatient stay.
