The
Field Service Technician
provides expert technical support for power systems through installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. This role combines strong electrical and mechanical skills with a customer-first mindset and a commitment to safety and quality. If you’re a hands-on technician who enjoys problem-solving in dynamic field environments, this opportunity lets you make an immediate impact while traveling across the U.S. Key Responsibilities
Perform field service activities including preventive maintenance, installation, calibration, and emergency repair of
low-, medium-, and high-voltage power systems . Troubleshoot and repair
switchgear, breakers, shutdown switches, wiring harnesses, alternators, and battery systems . Conduct
root cause analysis
and advanced troubleshooting on electrical controls, arc-resistant systems, and field power systems. Provide technical expertise and educate clients on equipment maintenance and operation. Mentor and support junior technicians under supervision of senior field staff. Ensure all work meets
safety, quality, and compliance standards , including on-call support as needed. Collaborate with
Engineering, Production, and Sales teams
to improve service processes, reduce costs, and recommend parts or upgrades. Participate in
continuous improvement initiatives
to enhance reliability and customer satisfaction. Qualifications
Education & Certifications High School Diploma or GED (Required) Technical Diploma in Industrial Electrical, Maintenance, or related field (Preferred) EGSA Certification (Preferred) Valid Driver’s License with clear record (past 7 years) TWIC Card and valid Passport (Required) Firefighting, Scaffolding, First Aid, and CPR certifications (Preferred) Experience 4+ years of experience in
installation, testing, maintenance, or reliability
of generators, governors, regulators, or switchgear. 4+ years in
power generation, utilities, oil & gas, marine, or energy industries. Strong background in
electrical controls
(Required). Engineering or
PLC programming experience
(Preferred). Technical Skills Familiar with
PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Quantum, Premium)
and relay programming ( Basler, Multilin, Sepam, Woodward ). Working knowledge of communication protocols ( Modbus, Ethernet, Fiber Optic ). Proficient with
multimeters, wrenches, drills, wiring tools, and soldering . Skilled in
Microsoft Office Suite
and experience with
GE, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Woodward
devices. Strong understanding of
safety compliance, documentation, and customer communication. Additional Requirements
Ability and willingness to
travel extensively , including internationally.
