Due to tremendous growth, my client, a $3B leading engineering and construction contractor, is seeking Senior Procurement Engineers to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer who is looking to take their career to the next level.

Position Overview The Senior Procurement Engineer plays a key role in bridging engineering and procurement functions, ensuring that all sourced materials, components, and systems meet technical specifications, cost targets, and quality standards. This position is ideal for a mechanical or electrical engineer with strong analytical, supplier management, and cost‑optimization skills who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing or technology‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead technical sourcing activities
for electrical, mechanical, and electro‑mechanical components, systems, and assemblies for assigned projects.
Collaborate closely with
Quality, Project Managers, and Manufacturing Engineering
to translate engineering requirements into supplier specifications.
Evaluate and select suppliers based on
technical capability, cost, quality, and delivery performance.
Conduct
cost analysis and value engineering
to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
Review and interpret
engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications
to ensure supplier compliance.
Support
new product introduction (NPI)
by identifying qualified suppliers and managing sourcing from concept to production.
Partner with cross‑functional teams to resolve technical issues, manage change orders, and maintain supplier alignment.
Negotiate
commercial and technical terms
to achieve optimal cost, lead time, and service levels.
Monitor supplier performance and lead
supplier development or corrective action initiatives
as needed.
Stay current on
market trends, new materials, and emerging technologies
relevant to assigned categories.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Finance (Master’s preferred).
3–10 years
of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supplier engineering within a manufacturing or engineering‑focused industry.
Strong technical background in electrical and/or mechanical systems, with the ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications.
Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations, cost analysis, and value engineering.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, sourcing tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, cross‑functional collaboration, and project management skills.
