As a
Shelter Veterinarian , you’ll provide essential medical care while leading innovation in shelter medicine. You’ll work alongside a compassionate, mission-focused team that values collaboration, communication, and excellence in every aspect of care.
What You’ll Do Deliver High-Impact Medical Care:
Provide preventive, diagnostic, surgical, and emergency services for shelter animals, including high-volume spay/neuter and complex procedures. Lead and Mentor:
Supervise and develop veterinary technicians and support staff, fostering a culture of compassionate, high-quality care. Shape Medical Standards:
Design and implement evidence-based medical protocols that improve outcomes and operational efficiency. Champion Animal Welfare:
Support animal cruelty investigations through expert assessments and testimony that protect vulnerable animals. Collaborate for Community Health:
Partner with local agencies, universities, and nonprofits to expand access to veterinary care and strengthen public health initiatives.
What You Bring Doctor of Veterinary Medicine ( DVM/VMD ) from an accredited institution Active Tennessee veterinary license
(or eligibility to obtain before start date) 1+ years of
clinical or shelter medicine experience
preferred; entry level candidates also encouraged to apply Proven ability to lead, communicate clearly, and make confident medical decisions Proficiency in
high-volume spay/neuter
techniques strongly preferred A deep commitment to
