The Sr. Flutter Engineer will build mobile applications and collaborate with Product and Design to develop new ideas, explore opportunities, and maintain Android application development. The right candidate can work independently and mentor others by sharing experience in an understandable way. You will report to the Lead, Mobile Software, help enforce architecture practices, and ensure project integration with mobile applications. Youll write reusable code and understand which design patterns best fit a given job. Primary Responsibilities
Contributing to the design, building, testing, optimization, and maintenance of the goTenna mobile apps (Flutter) Primary focus on a greenfield Flutter project Collaborating with the firmware and full-stack teams Supporting the QA team to ensure reliability and stability of the Android app along with the goTenna hardware Assisting product management teams to define, implement and develop new features with the user in mind Maintaining high quality, maintainability, and flexibility in code by adhering to best practices (coding standards, version control, peer reviews, etc.) Implementing the latest development frameworks and techniques (Riverpod, Material Design, etc.) Architecting and building projects using Dart for mobile Maintaining and supporting existing apps Collaborating with other teams to solve technical problems Mentoring other engineers on the team Required Experience
B.S. degree in Computer Science or related engineering field 3+ years of experience developing commercially shipped apps for mobile (Flutter) in a professional environment Ability to adhere to internal coding standards to produce clean, bug-free, maintainable, and shareable code Ability to develop complex mobile apps while optimizing for efficiency and stability Experience collaborating with UI/UX designers and implementing Material Design, including in absence of UI/UX designs Experience with Git and/or other Version Control Systems Experience writing Unit Tests and Integration Tests Preferred Experience
Experience working on government-focused projects Experience with IoT projects or Bluetooth Experience with Android and Kotlin development Knowledge of design patterns Experience with iOS and Swift development Experience with C/C++ Experience with RESTful APIs and backend integration Experience with encryption, security, and PKI frameworks Familiarity with Agile/Lean methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) Preference for working in an innovative, fast-paced environment Team-oriented, collaborative mindset and creativity in team-building Commitment to goTennas mission to build a distributed communication network Placement at the appropriate job level (entry, senior, etc.) will be determined by experience, proficiency, and other qualifications.
