Job Overview

Office of the Dean, College of Medicine, University of Oklahoma – Senior Data Analyst (Job #252388). Full‑time, onsite position located on the OU College of Medicine campuses (OKC and Tulsa). The role supports complex data management, statistical analysis, and data visualization across the institution to aid decision‑making, accreditation, benchmarking, and research metrics.

Compensation & Benefits

Targeted salary up to $87,000 depending on qualifications. Benefits provided. Required attachments: Resume and Cover Letter.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the master data set—create, update, delete, and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Administer users and user roles within the data environment.
  • Ensure data integrity and quality through QA checks in collaboration with the QA analyst.
  • Commission and decommission data sets as required.
  • Handle confidential data and information following institutional guidelines.
  • Develop reports and analyses for stakeholders.
  • Design and maintain the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
  • Support the data warehouse by identifying and revising reporting requirements.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve data integrity and normalization.
  • Implement and evaluate new or upgraded reporting software.
  • Generate reports from single or multiple systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in the reporting database environment.
  • Evaluate changes to source production systems.
  • Train end users on new reports and dashboards.
  • Provide technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
  • Supervise other Data Analysts, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and discipline.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to fulfill the role.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Equivalent to 48 months of data analysis or business analysis experience in lieu of a degree for a total of 96 months experience.

Experience: 48 months as a Data Analyst or in a related field.

Skills:

  • Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and recommend software solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into non‑technical terms.
  • Advanced knowledge of large‑scale database management methodologies.
  • Experience handling large data sets and relational databases.
  • Knowledge of data and metadata standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality.

Certifications: None required.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical: Typically seated for prolonged periods; computer use; effective communication; manual dexterity.
  • Environmental: Office work environment.
