About the role

The Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Streaming Analytics vertical is seeking a Sr Data Analyst to join the Growth & Retention Analytics team. Your work will help understand subscriber behaviors and implement strategies to improve retention across Disney’s streaming service offerings (Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN). You will support cross‑functional strategic and operational teams, driving retention tactics and providing actionable insights through exploratory data analysis, visualization, advanced reporting, and storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate complex analyses and results to a wide array of business stakeholders, including operational teams and executive audiences, both verbally and in written reports.
  • Work with operational teams in Marketing, Business Operations, Strategy, and Finance to understand promotion performance, including acquisition, cannibalization, engagement, retention, and conversion to full price.
  • Develop frameworks to measure the long‑term value of a DTC subscriber across multiple offerings and lifecycles, using these methodologies to size opportunities and assess product, feature, and pricing/promotion strategy.
  • Optimize the free trial offering to increase paid subscriber acquisition, ad revenue, and operating income.
  • Partner closely with Analytical Engineering, Data Product, Data Solutions, and Product & Tech Analytics to ensure data is properly instrumented and high‑quality data is available for cancel‑flow analysis.
  • Create and maintain operational dashboards in Looker and Tableau to track performance, enable exploratory analysis, and equip partners with self‑serve tools.
  • Translate complex business questions into SQL, including proper cohorting, calculations, filtering, and aggregations.
  • Understand the systems and business processes that populate critical data systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting strategic analyses and communicating insights to drive decision‑making.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on analytical work experience using SQL.
  • Experience building, scaling, and interpreting complex LTV frameworks, including understanding drivers of change over time.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to translate complex technical outputs into clear, actionable insights.
  • Highly collaborative, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated experience presenting directly to executive stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling concepts and predictive analytics.
  • Expertise with data exploration and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
  • Comfortable working with large, complex datasets in cloud‑based environments such as Snowflake.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in the streaming media industry and/or supporting a direct‑to‑consumer or subscription‑based product.
  • Familiarity with using programming languages such as Python or R for statistical modeling.

The hiring range for this position in New York City, NY is $123,000–$165,000 per year. Base pay will be adjusted for internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, role, and experience. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to standard benefits.
