Senior Manager, Senior Scientist, Analytical Chemistry
Individual Contributor Role
Reports to Sr. Director, Analytical Scientist
Role Overview:
Lead research and development for functional and nutritional ingredients and beverages across categories. Manage analytical testing, method development, and innovation in support of company product and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, lead, and execute routine & non-routine analytical testing for food, beverage, and ingredient products.
- Develop and validate analytical methods; prepare samples from various matrices.
- Perform qualitative, quantitative, and unknown analysis of small molecules and water-soluble large molecules (proteins, peptides).
- Apply expertise in separation/characterization techniques (GC, GC/MS, HPLC, LC/MS, CE, GPC, spectroscopy, rheology).
- Conduct advanced testing related to Citrus Greening Disease (HLB), phenotyping, juice blend management, and analytical troubleshooting.
- Maintain laboratory instruments; ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), LIMS, and Quality Management Systems.
- Analyze complex statistical data (DOE, product/process performance).
- Collaborate cross-functionally and with external partners; produce clear technical reports and presentations.
- Apply project management skills to deliver R&D initiatives efficiently and effectively.
Required Skills & Expertise:
- Advanced knowledge of analytical chemistry & food/beverage characterization.
- Proficiency with biochemical techniques (electrophoresis, ELISA, fluorescence, light scattering, blotting).
- Ability to quickly acquire new technical capabilities.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience in innovation from concept to launch.
- Capability to handle sensitive, complex issues with diplomacy.
Education & Experience:
- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or related field with 5–7+ years of industry experience; OR B.S. with 10+ years and M.S with 8+ years of industry experience

Pay Range:
$131,000 - $153,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
