Responsibilities
Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108‑bed psychiatric facility serving children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission, and bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for a Receptionist.
The Receptionist cordially greets and receives hospital guests, ascertains their needs, and appropriately directs visitors. The role operates the hospital switchboard in a professional manner, correctly routes calls, performs admission registration processes, and supports a variety of clerical duties. Candidates must comply with attendance and punctuality policies and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Schedule
Days every other weekend 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Operate the hospital switchboard and paging system functions in a professional, courteous, and effective manner, directing all incoming calls to the appropriate person.
- Welcome visitors to the hospital in a warm and helpful manner and maintain the visitor log, passes, and adherence to established procedures.
- Protect confidentiality of hospital and patient information, strictly adhering to privacy and patient rights procedures.
- Perform admission procedures, demonstrating comprehension of admission forms and the facility’s processes to answer patient/visitor questions.
- Accurately perform clerical tasks including data entry and report management.
- Execute opening and closing procedures.
- Comply with hospital policy regarding handling patient valuables and the cash drawer.
- Accept payment and provide receipts for hospital cafeteria tickets.
- Comply with hospital and departmental policies on attendance and punctuality.
- Assist with COVID‑19 protocols, including screening of visitors and staff and additional cleaning requirements for the front lobby and assessment rooms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Accurate typing skills and previous office experience
