This position supports engineering activities such as configuration, validation, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro‑mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, and specialized test equipment. As a Senior Engineering Technician in Oracle's hardware development server group, you will work on the next generation of Cloud Servers and GPU systems as well as sustain Cloud Servers. In addition to the below tasks, you will be in charge of the lab operations which include maintenance of lab servers, lab stock, shipping/receiving, coolant distribution units, and test equipment.
You must have experience in configuration, installation, maintenance, and handling of servers and R&D laboratory equipment.

US: Hiring Range in USD from $30.29 to $60.63 per hour; from: $63,000 to $126,100 per annum. May be eligible for equity.

Responsibilities
- Configure, install, maintain, and handle R&D laboratory equipment.
- Install and modify server components such as Motherboards, CPUs, DIMMs, PCIe modules, Network cards, PSUs, Cables, Storage drives, etc.
- Rework, repair, and test system motherboards.
- Support the integration, verification, testing, and modification of SW / HW / system components.
- Coordinate prototype system assembly and reconfigure systems per engineering request.
- Support engineering reworks during product builds.
- Ensures availability of laboratory equipment and maintains physical and environmental standards.
- Organize lab clean‑ups and manage recycling efforts.
- Manage inventory and stock of server components and prototypes.
- Run shipping and receiving for parts needed for server prototypes.
- Perform lab infrastructure set up, such as installing of PDUs, network gear, console servers, network cabling, racking/de‑racking of servers.
- Physically lift materials, packages less than 25lbs and able to operate a platform lift for heavy servers lifting above 25lbs up to 350lbs.
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical major with 4–6 years of experience as a Hardware technician.
- Authorized to work in the US.
Required skills
- Must have experience in configuration, designing, installation, maintenance, and handling R&D laboratory equipment for the use of delivery teams.
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment and instrumentation such as Oscilloscopes, DMM, Bus analyzers, Logic Analyzers, Power Supplies.
- Knowledge of server architecture and experience with installation of CPUs, memory, and other server components.
- Working knowledge of ESD principles and equipment protection.
- Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence.
Preferred skills
- Ability to use a solder Iron to perform delicate rework on high density PCBs.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving hardware issues on server motherboards and related components.
- Experience with Intel or AMD architecture is a plus.
- Experience working with PCIe‑connected GPUs is a plus.
- Proficient in the flow of CAD design tools such as Cadence, Concept, Allegro.
