Job Summary

This position is an essential part of a constructive and collaborative recruitment team that supports the University's strategic enrollment goals. The role focuses on increasing enrollment in undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates in the College of Education and Human Development. The person will prioritize recruitment for low-enrolled programs based on data, assist in recruiting students for COE, plan and assess recruitment and yield activities, advise prospective students and families on admissions and financial aid processes, and build relationships with high school and independent counselors and 2-year college advisors.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment Operations (on and off campus): Plan, execute, and assess recruitment activities to meet enrollment goals. Travel to high schools, community colleges, and attend college fairs and related events to recruit prospective COEHD students.
  • Outreach and Network Building: Conduct outreach and relationship-building with prospective students and families via in-person, phone, email, mail, and social media; develop ties with counselors, alumni, and key influencers; coordinate COEHD Ambassador activities; collaborate with campus and state constituents and school districts.
  • Reports: Submit program management reports of recruitment and prospective student activity to the Dean and COEHD Leadership Team.
  • Student Support: Welcome prospective students, provide guidance during the application process, arrange campus tours, and conduct follow-up activities.
  • Knowledge Building: Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional activities.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field (education, counseling, communications, business, marketing, etc.) with university experience.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Preferred: Experience in K-12 education, college recruitment, counseling, sales, marketing, public relations, communications, or education.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office; excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication; detail-oriented with strong multitasking, presentation, record-keeping, problem-solving, and organizational skills; ability to travel and have reliable transportation; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to work with diverse populations; flexible schedule.
