The Recruitment Process:

The most highly qualified candidates will be invited to participate in an in‑person Qualifications Appraisal Interview, tentatively scheduled for December 3, 2025. Successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list for employment consideration for at least six months.

- Performs technical accounting work involved in the preparation of payroll, accounts payable, fixed asset accounting, accounts receivable, financial reporting and/or budget monitoring; utilizes various computer programs to enter data, maintain and generate reports;
- Prepares and processes City payroll, including the verification and reconciliation of employee pay data and adjustments;
- Prepares and processes a variety of statements, reports, and tax returns;
- Prepares and distributes routine federal and state tax forms such as W-2 forms and 1099 forms;
- Prepares and processes the City’s accounts payable/receivable and files records;
- Reconciles accounting records against computerized reports and maintains necessary records;
- Responds to basic questions regarding payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable;
- Provides technical information and instruction to City personnel;
- Processes various requests for information;
- Assists in maintenance of chart of accounts, makes budget adjustments and prepares and posts journal entries;
- Posts to and maintains City trust accounts;
- Performs special projects and research;
- and other related functions as assigned.
Education:
Equivalent to at least an Associate’s degree in Accounting for which up to two (2) years experience may be substituted for the degree.
Experience:
At least one (1) year experience performing paraprofessional automated accounting duties.
