Overview
Responsible for maintaining smooth and efficient flow of patients in clinic, performing functions delegated by nursing and physician staff and maintaining and promoting a safe, clean and organized environment for the delivery of care. Also provides clerical support for the assigned clinic.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required
- High School education or equivalent.
- Currently registered with the State of Wisconsin Registry for Nursing Assistants to be eligible for employment in the basic provider settings, or certified as one of the following: Clinical Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant. Registry/certifications not required to be renewed after hire.
- Previous experience in a pediatric healthcare environment preferred.
- Proficient data entry skills with accuracy and speed.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to gather and share information with physicians, patients, visitors, families, and team members in a courteous and confidential manner.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and prioritizing skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks done simultaneously.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet patient care needs.
- Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
- Physical ability to lift and position patients weighing up to 75 pounds, as well as push and pull when performing cleaning functions.
- Frequently bends, lifts, twists, reaches, and squats.
- Occasionally push/pulls and does overhead work.
