Job Description: Lobby Attendant

The Housekeeping department plays an important role in ensuring guest satisfaction by delivering outstanding service and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the resort. The Housekeeping team takes great care in the quality of the environment with an attention to detail to ensure all guests have a clean and welcoming experience. The Lobby Attendant is responsible for delivering items to guest rooms (luggage, irons, coffee, towels, etc.) and is a PM shift position that requires weekends. Hours range from 3pm-2am in an 8-hour span, typical hours at 3p-11p, 6p-2am, 4p-12a, 5p-1a.

Job Summary

The Lobby Attendant is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of public spaces as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

  • Monitors and maintains the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Maintains clean and orderly public spaces within the facility.
  • Daily duties include vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, replenishing toiletries, sweeping, dusting, and polishing furnishings.
  • Cleans and sanitizes public and employee bathroom mirrors, sinks, toilets, and floors.
  • Replaces facial and toilet tissues, paper hand towels, and soaps as needed.
  • Inspects and evaluates the physical condition and appearance of furnishings.
  • Loads and transports cart to assigned area, keeping an inventory of supplies used.
  • Greets guests in a friendly manner, providing service and information when possible.
  • Re-positions furniture to correct floor plan.
  • Removes all dust and debris from upholstered furniture, including crevices and under cushions.
  • Cleans all lamps, light fixtures, and light switches; checks for proper working condition.
  • Removes dust, dirt, marks, and fingerprints from doors and door frames.
  • Removes stains, scuff marks, fingerprints, and dust from baseboards, ledges, and windows.
  • Completes special assignments as requested.
  • Properly disposes of garbage from waste cans throughout the facility including lobbies and hallways.
  • Routinely inspects public areas for maintenance needs, such as plumbing or electrical problems.
  • May assist room attendants in cleaning and servicing an assigned number of rooms per day.
  • Performs additional related duties as requested by a manager at any time.

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Job related experience in a similar setting preferred.
  • Individual must be highly motivated and self-directed.
  • Working knowledge of chemicals, cleaning supplies, and technique/equipment.
  • Ability to speak, write, read and understand English, bilingual helpful (Spanish).
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Qualifications

  • Must be able to operate cleaning equipment, including: vacuum cleaners, mop, and broom.
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, reach above shoulders, kneel, twist, and grip items.
  • Must be able to push and pull cleaning equipment and carts.
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

In accordance with New Jersey State Legislature (New Jersey Legislature Bill S2310 Sca (1R)) which requires private employers with ten (10) or more employees to include a range of pay for all advertised jobs, promotion, or transfer opportunities. This position pays $15.49 - $16.50/hour dependent on experience.
