The Shipping Dock Supervisor oversees daily shipping dock operations at our aluminum extrusion plant, ensuring efficient and accurate loading, unloading, and dispatching while maintaining safety and optimizing workflow.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Shipping Operations: Oversee the loading and unloading of aluminum extrusion products, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Team Management: Lead and manage a team of dock workers, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
• Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely and accurate shipments.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect shipments for quality and accuracy, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of shipments, including bills of lading, packing lists, and inventory logs.
• Communication: Coordinate with internal departments and external carriers to ensure smooth logistics operations.
• Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues related to shipping delays, damaged goods, or inventory discrepancies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or supply chain management preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or aluminum extrusion environment.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in inventory management software.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
