About the Role
We’re looking for a dedicated, relationship-focused Loan Officer Assistant / Production Manager to join a high-producing mortgage team. This is a hybrid position with in-office hours worked at our branch in Columbia, Maryland or Herndon, Virginia.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to empower people with clarity to make the smartest money decisions — and to serve them well beyond the closing table. If you take pride in excellence, organization, and authentic connection, you’ll thrive in this role.
You’ll be joining an established, vibrant team with a steady flow of warm, qualified leads and trusted referral partners. Your focus is on quality, service, and precision, not chasing business.
This position is ideal for a mortgage professional who understands the business, values integrity and teamwork, and wants to make a real impact — not just process loans and do input. You’ll help nurture client interactions, ensure clean, compliant files, and create a smooth experience for every borrower.
What You’ll Do
- Pre-screen and qualify direct leads to ensure a high-touch, consultative client experience from the start.
- Input and maintain accurate loan application and compliance data in our LOS and CRM systems.
- Coordinate with clients and the loan officer to collect initial documentation and prepare files for submission.
- Manage and organize the client database, ensuring timely follow-ups and relationship nurturing before, during, and after the loan process.
- Support business operations by keeping communication clear, consistent, and professional between all parties involved.
- Streamline systems and processes to help the team operate efficiently and deliver a best-in-class client experience.
What You’ll Not Do
- ❌ You will not be responsible for prospecting new referral partnerships or generating new business — we already have a strong network of trusted partners and a consistent flow of warm, direct leads.
- ❌ You will not be tasked with lead generation — your time is focused on nurturing and qualifying clients who already want to work with us.
- ❌ You will not manage the full loan pipeline or milestone tracking beyond origination — another experienced Loan Officer Assistant and our processor handle those stages.
- ❌ You will not be bored. Our pipeline is consistently active, with an abundance of opportunity that rewards initiative, attention to detail, and proactive communication.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of recent mortgage industry experience as a Loan Officer Assistant, Loan Partner, or Production Manager.
- Strong working knowledge of mortgage guidelines, products, and origination systems (Conventional, FHA, VA, etc.).
- Must hold an active NMLS license (or be willing to obtain one immediately upon hire).
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail — you love structure and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills — you make clients feel confident, informed, and cared for.
- Tech-savvy with CRMs, LOS platforms (ENCOMPASS a huge plus), and office productivity tools.
- A proactive mindset — you anticipate needs and solve problems before they arise.
- Comfortable working hybrid (remote + in-person) with a professional, accountable work ethic.
What We Offer
- $100,000+ annual compensation (base salary + monthly bonuses + employee stock ownership)
- Hybrid flexibility — balance your time between home and office.
- A mission-driven team culture that values service, integrity, and long-term relationships.
- Growth potential within a high-performing, expanding organization.
- Leadership that invests in your development, success, and well-being.
- Full benefits package plus paid time off.
