Phlebotomist – We Train

Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while safeguarding donor confidentiality.
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
- Monitor donor and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality.
- Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.
- Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.
Occupational Demands
Work is performed in a plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms; electrical and laboratory equipment; extreme cold (<32°F) while working in the plasma freezer. Personal protective equipment—protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold‑gear—is required. Work involves standing for 6–8 hours a day, bending, twisting, frequent hand movements, and occasional foot movements. Light lifting of 15 lb with a maximum lift of 50 lb. Vision requirements: near vision 20/30 and far vision 20/100. Tasks require precise coordinated movements of fingers and hands, reading and following instructions, and communicating sensitive information.
