Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. This role involves performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging, and recording data while ensuring decontamination and updating patient information. The position requires expertise in specimen collection, including venipuncture and handling of various specimen types such as urine and fecal matter. The Phlebotomist must demonstrate proficiency in using straight needles and butterfly needles, understand lab and physician orders, and ensure specimens are properly matched with requisition forms. Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
- Centrifuge specimens and ensure proper processing.
- Record data and maintain decontamination procedures.
- Update and manage patient information.
- Collect and store various types of specimens, including venipuncture and other collection methods.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using straight needles and butterfly needles.
- Understand and follow lab orders, physician orders, and blood work orders.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Freeze specimens as required and maintain appropriate temperature for sample integrity.
- Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.

- Experience in Pediatrics, Oncology, and Geriatric settings
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience in a medical diagnostic lab setting or hospital laboratory
- Proficient in venipunctures in lab or hospital lab setting
- High School Diploma or GED
