SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER -PROPERTY ACCOUNTING

Well established and growing real estate company in San Francisco is seeking a Sr. Accounting Manager to join their dynamic team. The Senior Property Accounting Manager will oversee financial accounting, administration, financial close processes, reconciliations, and strategic analysis. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team, implement process improvements, and contribute to the organization's financial strategy. Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Review and approve journal entries, budgets, payroll, and expense allocations while addressing discrepancies effectively.
• Ensure the integrity of the general ledger, including intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and loan schedules.
• Conduct and supervise bank reconciliations, wire transfers, mortgage payments, and cash disbursements to maintain compliance and accuracy.
• Monitor liquidity and cash flow activities to support organizational goals and investor distributions.
• Lead budgeting and financial planning processes, providing insights into forecasting and expenditure management.
• Serve as a key liaison during audits, collaborating with external CPAs and ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
• Mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, automation, and reporting accuracy.
• Support the optimization and deployment of accounting software to improve operational effectiveness.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business
• Over 6 years of progressive accounting experience
• Real estate industry, property management experience
• Strong management experience, including supervising, mentoring, and developing accounting teams.
• Experience with Real Page or Yardi a plus
• Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger management, reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Excellent communication skills
