Elma Electronic is seeking a motivated and technically curious
Sales Application Engineer
to join our dynamic team. This is more than just a job-it's a launchpad for your career through our
immersive 36-month Sales Application Engineer Development Program (SAEDP) .
This is an onsite role in our Lawrenceville, GA location.
What You'll Do As a Sales Application Engineer, you'll be the technical backbone of our sales team, working closely with Regional Sales Managers and Embedded Computing Architects to:
Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to customers
Evaluate RFQs and recommend solutions based on Elma's product portfolio
Collaborate with engineering to translate customer needs into actionable designs
Prepare cost proposals, system configuration documents, and technical deliverables
Maintain and communicate detailed customer requirements
Travel to customer sites as needed to support projects and build relationships
About the SAEDP Rotational Program This structured, 3-year program is designed to build your technical depth, customer insight, and business acumen. You'll rotate through four core functions, each lasting ~9 months:
Sales & Business Development
- Engage with customers, support proposals, and master CRM tools
Program Management Office (PMO)
- Track DoD program execution and contract compliance
Embedded Systems Architecture & Applications
- Collaborate on mission system designs
Engineering - Product Development & Testing
- Support rugged embedded system design and validation
You'll also receive mentorship, support for a master's degree, and opportunities for certifications like PMP or CMII.
What You Bring
AS/BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel); CAD or 3D modeling experience is a plus
Exposure to electronics, embedded systems, or high-tech manufacturing
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects
Bonus points for experience with:
Single Board Computers, Ethernet switches, storage, and software integration
Real-time OS (Linux, VxWorks, Windows Server/XP)
Programming in C/C++ or scripting languages
Contract review and technical documentation
Education
An AS/BS in a technical field (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience is required.
A strong technical background is preferred, and familiarity with ELMA products is a plus.
