Overview

The Data Analyst 2 will produce analytics engineering solutions in the Data Engineering Unit in the Center for Health Data Innovation. The Data Engineering Unit is responsible for developing and operating large scale, enterprise data solutions and applications that help to guide policy and decision-making in healthcare and public health. The Data Engineering unit is a highly collaborative team that requires effective communication and problem-solving skills, as well as strong technical skills. Duties Description

Work with Product Manager’s to conduct technical requirements gathering and project scoping sessions with subject matter experts and stakeholders to discover and define data needs. Work with analysts to design value-creating pipelines including data integrations and transformations, model features, and statistical models. Achieve standards in data reliability, data integrity and data governance, enabling accurate, consistent, and trustworthy data sets, business intelligence products, and analyses. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Seven years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools. Substitution:

An associate’s degree may substitute for two years of general experience; or a bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of general experience. A master’s degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, may substitute for one year of general experience; or a Ph.D. in these fields may substitute for two years of general experience. Preferred Qualifications Proficient in Python, SQL, dbt, and Git. Not required, but a nice to have: familiarity with Airflow, Docker, or Terraform. Strong SQL knowledge and ability to write efficient queries (preferably experience in Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery). Proven experience in data analytics, data engineering, or related roles, preferably in the Health Data, with experience using modern data pipelines and warehousing platforms. Quick learner with ability to swiftly grasp new methods and technologies. Proven ability to work both independently on projects and as part of a larger team. Possess strong analytical thinking and critical reasoning skills with an aptitude for problem-solving. Object-oriented/object function scripting in Python
