Overview CXponent is a leading Tech Advisor supporting clients develop and source technology products / services that align with their goals and budget. Having recently partnered with Shore Capital Partners, known for rapidly scaling businesses, the organization is entering its next phase of growth and is seeking its first Controller to join the team. This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and play a critical part in building and optimizing the firm’s finance function. The firm’s leadership team brings unmatched expertise, having advised on more than $1B in enterprise spend and implemented over $100M in SaaS, infrastructure, and managed services solutions. With each lead advisor offering 15+ years of experience across advisory, transaction support, IT transformation, and operational leadership, the Controller will step into an environment that blends strategic insight with execution excellence. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the finance organization of a high-growth, PE-backed firm and contribute directly to its continued expansion.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of financial reporting.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Develop and monitor accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support a growing business.

Lead the upgrade and implementation of the firm’s ERP system to ensure scalability, efficiency, and automation across accounting and finance.

Drive integration of finance systems with operational tools, ensuring data integrity and workflow efficiency.

Partner with IT and business leaders to evaluate, recommend, and deploy automation solutions across accounting processes.

Design and implement scalable accounting processes to support rapid growth.

Identify and execute automation opportunities in areas such as accounts payable, billing, reconciliations, and reporting.

Establish KPIs and dashboards to provide actionable insights to leadership.

Partner with CFO and private equity stakeholders to support financial due diligence and post-acquisition integration.

Standardize and align accounting processes across newly acquired entities.

Ensure seamless onboarding of acquisitions into the ERP and financial reporting systems.

Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team as the business scales.

Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, IT, and advisory teams to align financial processes with business objectives.

Serve as a trusted partner to the CFO and private equity sponsors, providing insights to drive decision-making.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred).

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2+ years in a leadership or Controller role.

Experience in a PE-backed, high-growth, or professional services environment strongly preferred.

Demonstrated success leading ERP implementation or upgrade projects (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar).

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.

Proven ability to design and implement process improvements and automation initiatives.

Exposure to M&A, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
