Organization Overview

Xaverian Brothers USA is the central administrative office for the Xaverian Brothers, a Catholic community of Brothers with presence primarily in the US and Africa. The office is located in Baltimore, MD and supports retirement centers in Massachusetts and Kentucky, as well as Xaverian communities and ministries in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, South Sudan and Haiti. Position Overview

The Director of Financial Operations collaborates with the congregational Treasurer and other members of the leadership team in carrying out the congregation’s mission, especially in financial, business and operational matters. S/he reports to the Treasurer and supervises a part-time administrative assistant. This is a full-time position with one remote day per week, subject to future modification. Given the wide range of responsibilities, the position is an excellent opportunity to develop and advance skills in a wide variety of finance and business operations and provides a pathway to additional responsibilities, educational support and compensation growth. Major responsibilities

Financial Planning and Management Collaborates with the Treasurer in preparing annual operating and capital budgets and monitoring performance against budget Assists regional Treasurers in Africa in budget preparation and monitoring Assists congregational Treasurer in developing, maintaining and modifying long-term financial plans and actuarial analysis of retirement needs and resources Accounting Serves as primary liaison with RSMUS for outsourced accounting services and external auditing firm Provides journal entries and documentation for adjustments outside of the Accounts Payable system (BILL.com) Reviews monthly financial statements and coordinates adjustments before distribution to internal managers and oversight bodies (Finance Committee and Trustees) Assists Development Office staff monthly in reconciling receipts in the development database with the general ledger Accounts Payable Submits invoices and payment requests, as appropriate, and serves as approver in automated AP system Submits documentation for manual checks and offline payments Manages congregational credit card operations, including distribution/replacement of cards and review/approval of monthly charges in automated system (Tallie) Accounts Receivable Prepares annual invoices for sponsored schools Monitors timely payments of invoices and handles delinquent accounts Payroll and Personnel Management Reviews and approves data entry for payroll processing in the ADP system Develops and submits employee and employer contributions for employees’ 403b retirement accounts Coordinates payroll and benefit information and documentation for new hires Maintains and distributes employee benefit documents and claims Coordinates filing of individual tax returns with external accounting firm, as necessary Assists in development of applications for Medicaid, subsidized housing and other services for US members, as needed Investments Meets with investment advisors and Trustees to review investment policy, performance and recommendations Coordinates submission of transaction documents, in coordination with investment advisor’s team Coordinates with brokerage firm to oversee wire transfers for new and redeemed issues and to communicate cash needs from investment portfolios Other finance and business functions Serves as primary liaison with external fleet management company, including coordination of vehicle purchases/sales/reassignment and approval of major repairs Assists individual US members with banking, credit card, healthcare, vehicle and other problems/issues, as needed Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have some understanding of religious life and a personal value system that is mission-driven. Familiarity with the Xaverian Brothers and/or Xaverian Brothers Sponsored Schools is desirable. Compensation
