Transit Trainer – Starting Salary Range: $41,872 - $46,059 Join the City of Fredericksburg's team as a Transit Trainer! Job Summary
The Transit Trainer is responsible for transit and transportation related training, procedures, processes and programs. The Trainer performs oversight and administrative work in coordinating, planning and implementation related activities, training and work within the Department. Work involves performing training for all new hires; regular training and retraining for transit employees; developing and/or updating training programs and related procedures; recommending improvements in the operation, safety and efficiency of the system and monitoring aspects of employee work and performance. Reports to the Operations Manager. Minimum Requirements
High School diploma, vocational/technical diploma; or equivalent training and experience. A minimum of three (3) years of transit experience required; or equivalent education, and/or experience. A minimum of one (1) year of management, supervisory and/or training experience preferred. Must possess a valid Virginia Class B Commercial Driver’s License with passenger and air brake endorsement. Proficiency in using computer systems and the software applications associated with performance of assigned work is essential (ex. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, RouteMatch). Special Requirements
This position is classified as essential personnel. Must be able to pass DOT physical examination. Must be able to work flexible hours on various days of the week. This includes weekends, evenings and holidays, and to be available for work on short notice. Required to perform the duties of a Transit Operator or Dispatcher as needed. Additional Information
