The ideal candidate for this position must be familiar with Navien and the boiler and hydronics industry, with a focus on condensing products. They must have a strong background and understanding in the overall boiler market, including combination boilers, residential and commercial, floor standing and wall mount products, systems and accessories, and the direction of the industry in the future. They are experienced with the processes and procedures of product development and product management. They must also be able to work well independently as well as in a team environment and must be a person of integrity. Essential attributes include excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to multitask and remain focused in high-pressure situations. In addition, the product manager must be highly self-motivated, have a positive attitude and be resourceful and enthusiastic about creating growth. Responsibilities: The product manager must be the point person for the company for their products, acting as the subject matter expert, and organizing and facilitating communication among all departments Assist in Development of Market-Specific Promotional Collateral, Demonstrations, and Tutorials Work with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, technical and sales operations Work with Marketing to create high-impact internal and customer-facing materials, communicating the value and unique advantages of the product portfolio Conduct ongoing market research and stay knowledgeable about industry trends. Provide business analysis of varying markets to support new product development requests Lead competitive benchmarking activities to identify and address product gaps (customer surveys, online research, other benchmarking methodologies, VOC etc.) Work with all levels of distribution chain both remotely and in person to gather market data needed to develop, enhance, or market Navien products Develop market requirements documents to create a business case for products Work with other staff and departments to integrate product families and accessories to provide hybrid solutions for Navien products Provide reporting as required to update and support management on the state of the industry and Navien products Research and enroll in various awards continuously for the entire product portfolio Collaborate closely with parent company KD Navien’s engineering and business teams on product development requirements and business needs Collaborate with other departments such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Marketing, Finance, Sales to ensure profitable growth of the product portfolio and successful execution of various product development projects Establish and manage relationships with potential OEM suppliers to ensure product quality, competitiveness, market relevance for all of Navien’s boiler products and accessories Coordinate with marketing, product management, sales, business development, and SCM to ensure successful product lifecycle management Provide product leadership at customer and internal events & meetings Lead various cross-functional teams in product planning requiring in-house and field onboarding Assist product development with current and future products Lead cross functional teams in new product launches for all online/offline channels Co-develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, engineering – or 5+ years of relevant industry experience Must have 3+ years product management or sales experience with the boiler/combi boiler market in North America An understanding of code and certification requirements across the boiler industry for both residential and commercial applications Experience with product lifecycle management from concept to production a plus Self-starter with excellent time management and communication skills Experience working with Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint High level of presentation/public speaking skills and strong customer service skills Ability to drive/travel – approximately 30% out of town travel required. (5% international travel) The ability to manage several projects at once under deadline pressure is also essential An ability to understand, research, writes and delivers summaries on a range of business issues Preferred Qualifications: Strong research and development background Candidates with boiler knowledge plus HVAC experience, full hydronics system experience, or controls education will be given priority Able to critically analyze market trends and develop a go to market plan Experience with both non-condensing and condensing products, commercial and residential An above average understanding of the Boiler product sales channels and distribution, including experience working within a manufacturer and 2 step distribution model This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
