This new role will design scalable hiring processes, lead salaried recruitment, and guide HR teams on hourly strategies. The ideal candidate is a hands-on recruiter with strategic vision, driving consistency, efficiency, and a strong employer brand across all HDCM locations.

Location: Flexible – may be based in Charlotte, NC; Northern Alabama; or the Springfield/Nashville, TN area.This role supports Marmon’s Heavy-Duty Components & Modification (HDCM) platform, a ~$400M revenue business composed of industry-leading brands that power the commercial vehicle market. Our portfolio includes Fontaine Fifth Wheel, Fontaine Modification, Fontaine Spray Suppression, Stahl Truck Bodies, Sisu Axles, and Marmon-Herrington, serving OEMs, fleets, dealers, and aftermarket customers across North America and select global markets.With a shared focus on safety, reliability, and performance, the HDCM platform delivers mission-critical components and systems—including axles, suspensions, fifth wheels, vehicle modifications, spray suppression, and vocational truck bodies. Our operations span over 20 locations across the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Europe, integrating manufacturing, engineering, and distribution capabilities.We are committed to product innovation, operational excellence, and customer-driven solutions, empowering the next generation of heavy-duty mobility.**Position Overview**This is the first Talent Acquisition Manager role in the HDCM platform: a unique opportunity to build a recruiting function from the ground up. The TA Manager will design and implement KPIs, processes, and strategies that shape how we attract, hire, and retain top talent.The role will focus primarily on salaried recruitment across the platform, while also serving as a strategic consultant to HR teams on hourly recruiting. This includes providing guidance on best practices, supporting the development of hourly recruiting strategies, and occasionally stepping in to lead hourly searches for high-priority or high-turnover sites.The right candidate will combine a hands-on approach to recruiting with a big-picture mindset; setting direction, driving consistency, and raising the bar for all hiring efforts across the platform.**Key Responsibilities****Build & Lead Talent Acquisition*** Establish the TA function for HDCM, creating KPIs, reporting, and scalable processes from scratch.* Lead end-to-end salaried recruitment across HDCM.* Serve as a consultant and advisor to HR teams on hourly recruiting strategies and execution.* Step in to directly support hourly recruiting at targeted facilities as needed.**Recruitment Strategy & Execution*** Develop sustainable talent pipelines across the transportation industry and within local communities.* Partner with HR and business leaders to craft job descriptions that accurately reflect roles, highlight career growth, and position HDCM as an employer of choice.* Drive data-informed recruiting practices to reduce time-to-fill and turnover while improving candidate experience.**Marmon Standards & Training*** Ensure consistent application of Targeted Selection and structured interview practices across all hiring teams.* Train and coach hiring managers on recruitment best practices, candidate experience, and compliance.* Align hiring efforts with workforce planning needs.**Talent Development & Employer Branding*** Embed Marmon’s Employee Value Proposition into all attraction strategies.* Strengthen HDCM’s employer brand across markets, industries, and communities.* Represent HDCM at career fairs, university events, and industry functions.**University & Early Career Partnerships*** Build pathways for early-career talent into salaried roles.* Support relationships with schools, trade programs, and industry associations.* Partner with Marmon University Relations and BU HR on internship recruiting and programming.**Continuous Improvement & Metrics*** Design, track, and report recruiting KPIs for salaried and hourly efforts.* Use data to refine strategies, drive efficiency, and improve retention.* Ensure Workday recruiting data is accurate, timely, and leveraged to inform decision-making.**Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; HR/Talent Acquisition certifications a plus.* 5+ years’ experience in salaried recruitment; exposure to hourly recruiting in manufacturing strongly preferred.* Expertise with ATS systems (Workday, LinkedIn Recruiter, etc.).* Strong knowledge of structured interviewing and recruiting standards.* Proven ability to build processes, metrics, and strategies from the ground up.* Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills; able to influence leaders at all levels.* Experience supporting multi-site operations a plus.At Marmon, you get the best of both worlds: the strength and stability of Berkshire Hathaway, plus the autonomy and opportunity of a growing platform.
