Responsibilities

Leading the team to succeed and serving as a support resource to meet production schedules

Facilitating the safe and productive manufacture of high quality products

Effectively drive and maintain the standardized work process; train team members in the proper method

Help the team succeed in an environment based on BOS, continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, and 5-S

Demonstrating problem-solving, coaching, and eliminating waste by responding to abnormalities and following the TMS philosophy

Devoting approximately 90% of scheduled production time on the shop floor

Champion and promote safety and safe work habits

Material, 1st/last piece sign off, container sign off; obtain documents and samples for the team

Utilize SMED to support press changeover

Respond to calls for help with Equipment, Components, Quality, and Safety issues

Identify root causes of problems using cause-and-effect analysis

Document improvement activity to an A3 form

Recognize waste/non-ideal conditions and implement countermeasures, utilizing outside assistance as needed

Monitor and maintain cell BOS metrics (Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Scrap, etc.)

Train new and experienced team members using the Job Instruction Methodology

Ensure Standard Work is followed through the Yellow Card Audit process

Update/revise standardized work as part of continuous improvement activity

Complete LPA as assigned and on time

Lead/Own changeover boards, update schedule each shift, hourly rate boards, hourly checks/first piece checks, and assist GL/Quality

Assist with changeovers or coil changes as needed; run press to fill in for call offs or as needed

Ensure setup has dies set up sheets updated per job by printing off die sheets and after changeovers

End of shift paperwork

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED equivalent are required

Working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and SAP preferred

Industrial or manufacturing experience with 12 month shop floor operations experience preferred

Strong leadership ability to lead in a team environment

Excellent attendance and punctuality

Effective communication and training skills

Ability to handle multiple priorities with strong self-initiative

Analyzing, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
