Overview
The Physician Assistant will be responsible for the following job duties: Cover attending clinics. Evaluate new and return patients with the attending physician. Assist with placing consults and providing necessary work-up for clinic patients. Run independent PA clinic. Evaluate follow-up and post-op patients independently. Provide wound care and necessary bedside procedures. Coordinate patient care, patient education and teaching, communicating with patients pre-operatively and post-operatively, and communicating with other providers to obtain all pertinent clinical information to facilitate patient care. Interface with residents, fellows, attending physicians, physician assistants, and nurses to coordinate care as part of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery team. Triage patient concerns as needed OR opportunities Provide educational sessions to nursing and medical assistant staff in the clinical setting.
Shifts
10-hour day shifts; 7:00 am – 5:30 pm; no weekends
Qualifications
Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program Successful completion of an accredited surgical first assistant (SFA) program Licensed by the MD Board of Physicians Board certified or certification eligible for new Graduate PA by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants BLS Health Care Provider CPR certification required: AHA or Red Cross accepted 2 years of PA work experience preferred Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership Systems (PECOS) enrollment required
You must be fully credentialled by The Johns Hopkins Hospital medical board with staff privileges to start working.
Salary Range
Minimum 53.15/hour - Maximum 82.38/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
