Overview
Acara Solution is looking for a Senior Advanced Electrical Engineer for our client in Scottsdale, AZ (onsite position). This is a long-term contract position with possible contract-to-direct opportunity if desired.
This position requires an active Secret clearance (or active within the past 2 years).
Responsibilities
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for hardware design from requirements analysis through schematic capture, managing of layout constraints, supporting PWB layout, manufacturing, and integration & test.
Lead and execute hardware design activities, including requirements analysis, schematic capture, and layout constraint management
Support printed wiring board (PWB) layout, manufacturing, and integration & test processes
Collaborate within cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability standards
Lead the end-to-end hardware design process - from requirements definition and schematic capture to layout management, manufacturing support, and system integration & testing
Develop and review detailed electrical schematics, component selections, and PCB layout constraints to ensure performance and reliability
Conduct design analyses, simulations, and verification testing to ensure compliance with performance specifications and regulatory standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex design challenges and support system-level trade studies
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement in design methodologies
Interface with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and program management to ensure smooth transition of designs into production
Support Design for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), signal integrity, and power integrity efforts to optimize performance and minimize interference
Participate in design reviews, prepare documentation, and contribute to technical proposals and presentations
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
Minimum 8 years of applicable experience (6 years with a Master's degree), including:
High-speed circuit card design incorporating embedded processors or FPGAs
Advanced memory devices and storage protocols
Design for Electromagnetic Compliance (EMC)
Preferred Skills
Master's Degree
Expert-level understanding of hardware development processes throughout the lifecycle of the program or project
Experience with circuit card design using advanced materials and packaging techniques
Working knowledge of the Mentor tools Suite for schematic entry, constraint manager, Hyper Lynx SI/PI analysis
Collaborative, creative thinker with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects
Exceptional communication skills with the capacity to drive innovation and secure buy-in on concepts and ideas
