Job Description — Opportunity at a Glance

You’re the strategic communications architect who positions our C-suite as industry thought leaders while building media relationships and managing financial communications that amplify our business story. This role combines executive communications strategy with comprehensive media relations expertise to create integrated campaigns that elevate leadership visibility, drive stakeholder confidence, and enhance brand awareness across investors, policymakers, healthcare leaders, and business communities. You’ll serve as both the strategic communications partner to our executives and our chief storyteller with journalists and the financial community, translating complex business strategies into compelling narratives that build credibility and drive business results through earned media and executive thought leadership.

Responsibilities

Executive Communications & Thought Leadership: Own comprehensive CEO and C-suite communications strategy, from messaging frameworks to content development; develop executive-authored content including speeches, bylined articles, and thought leadership pieces; create audience-specific messaging for financial communities, health systems, policymakers, and business leaders; manage executive social media strategy and digital presence initiatives.

Media Relations & Financial Storytelling: Build and maintain journalist relationships; serve as primary media contact for healthcare, education, business, and financial matters; execute media strategies for major announcements; lead financial communications including earnings messaging and coordination with investor relations to ensure consistent narrative.

Team Leadership & Strategic Management: Lead and develop the team (Senior Manager of Executive Communications and Manager of Media Relations); provide strategic oversight and coaching for career growth; serve as strategic counselor to corporate affairs leadership on executive positioning and media strategy; manage agency partner relationships and drive strategic direction; support crisis communications for executive and business matters.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in communications, media relations, journalism or related field

10 years of experience in related positions, including 5 years minimum management experience

Experience working with third party agencies

Well-developed writing and journalistic skills; strong leadership and collaboration abilities

Strong financial acumen and business storytelling for earnings and investor communications

Proven media relations experience with established journalist relationships and spokesperson capabilities

Executive advisory skills and ability to counsel corporate affairs leadership on integrated communications strategy

Agency and vendor management experience; ability to lead external partner relationships and ensure deliverables

Crisis communications expertise and ability to manage executive reputation and media issues

Strategic business acumen and ongoing awareness of executive communications trends

Salary, Benefits & Additional Information The expected salary range for this position is between $180,000.61 and $200,000.00. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
