Overview

The Power Apps Lead Architect and Developer will design, build, and optimize enterprise-grade solutions on Microsoft’s Power Platform, with a focus on scalable architecture, secure integrations, and performance-driven low-code applications. This role requires expert-level understanding of the Power Apps internal runtime model, Dataverse schema design, and PowerFx-based execution patterns. This position requires the ability to work onsite 5 days/week at one of our locations in Rockville, MD, Frederick MD, or Tysons, VA. Key Responsibilities

Architect and implement Power Apps solutions that integrate seamlessly with Microsoft Dataverse, Azure services, and external APIs through standard and custom connectors. Lead design of model-driven and canvas apps, governing solution layering, environment strategy, ALM pipelines, and dependency management across Dev, Test, and Prod environments. Develop and maintain reusable Power Apps components, including PowerApps Component Framework (PCF) controls and custom connectors, packaged and deployed via solution manifests. Oversee low-code application lifecycle management using Azure DevOps and Power Platform Build Tools, including source control of exported app JSON schemas and solution XMLs. Implement PowerFx-based logic, governance policies, and performance instrumentation across Power Platform environments. Collaborate with enterprise security and cloud teams to enforce compliance, data protection, and least-privilege design within Azure AD and Dataverse. Guide developers in understanding internal Power Platform operations — including metadata-driven compilation, connector resolution, PowerFx expression evaluation, and runtime sandboxing within Azure Functions. Required Skills

Deep expertise in Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), PowerFx, and Dataverse architecture. Proficiency in Power Automate, Power BI integration, and Power Platform Administration. Experience building PCF components, custom connectors, and REST-based integrations. Strong background in Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, and Identity (AAD). Familiarity with JSON, TypeScript, C#, and Power Platform CLI/Build Tools. Proven experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform solutions using Azure DevOps. Ability to work onsite at one of our locations 5 days/week in Rockville, MD, Frederick, MD, or Tysons, VA. The diversity of Axle’s employees is a tremendous asset.
