Responsibilities

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a BC/BE Neonatologist to join our team of 4 Neonatologists and 7 NNPs in Des Moines, IA.

Group covers two hospitals:

MercyOne Medical Center: a 60-bed Level 3 NICU with an ADC of 42; 24/7 in-house coverage, full subspecialty support, care for infants down to 22 weeks gestation, active neonatal transport team.

Shift structure:

MercyOne Medical Center: M–F Day Shift 10 hours with NNP

MercyOne Medical Center: M–F Night Shift 14 hours Neonatologist only

Weekends: 24 hours Neonatologist only

Discharge coordination and social work staff round with neonatology daily

NNPs have their own team with neonatology oversight

Building the NNP team with aim of 24/7 NNP coverage at Level 3

MercyOne West Des Moines Medical Center: 5-bed Level 2 nursery and NBN; 24/7 in-house NNP coverage; Neonatologist rounds in the morning at this location.
