Pediatric Hospitalist
Position Highlights:
Position: Physician, Pediatric Hospitalist
Location: Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, IL; Evanston Hospital, Evanston, IL
Employment: Full Time
Hours: Monday – Sunday, varies by site/services
Pay Range:
$189,637 – $281,653 – placement within the range depends on factors such as FTE, prior experience, certifications, degrees, subspecialties, projected volumes, and quality performance
Required Travel: Optional rotations at other sites are available
We are seeking one full-time qualified physician to join the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Primary locations include the Pediatric Acute Care Center, a new hybrid model at Endeavor Health Northwest Community Hospital. Pediatric care includes evaluation of Level 2-5 ED pediatric patients, consultation on Level 1 ED pediatric patients, care for extended stay patients, and initial evaluations of adolescent psychiatry patients. The dedicated care team includes board-certified pediatric hospitalists, pediatric emergency medicine physicians, advanced practice providers, and specially trained nurses. Access to pediatric subspecialists is available through the Chicagoland Children\'s Healthcare Alliance. The second location is Evanston Hospital, including an Infant Special Care Unit. Time spent at each location varies based on physician experience, strengths, and division needs.
Responsibilities
Evaluate and consult on pediatric patients arriving in the Emergency Department
Provide active management for pediatric patients requiring observation up to 48 hours
Provide educational supervision to house-staff, students, paramedics, and EMTs on duty or on rotation in the Emergency Department
Attend all Pediatric Code Blues
Assist the neonatologist as needed in attending deliveries
Qualifications
Education: U.S. accredited Pediatric Residency Program
License: IL Medical License or License Pending
Certification: Board certified or board prepared in Pediatrics (American Board of Pediatrics)
Experience: Newborn Nursery Experience, ED or Immediate Care Experience (preferred)
