The Sr Software Engineer - T-Cloud & Enterprise Vault works with a team of software, network, and systems engineers to design, implement, and deploy software that meets customer requirements, scales with demand, removes limitations of traditional networking solutions, and supports deployment in highly available DevOps-centric environments. The role utilizes automation tools and technologies for CI/CD and configuration management for non-prod environments, and focuses on improving and protecting software and systems behind T-Mobile\'s IT services including scalability, availability, latency, performance, security, and capacity while delivering software faster, better, and cheaper. From designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to building the next generation of T-Mobile applications on cloud-native platforms, this role enables great customer experience and product innovation through continuous improvement of operational support. This role offers a 3:2 hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office. This role may be based at one of the following locations: Atlanta, GA Overland Park, KS Bothell, WA Job Responsibilities
Drives engineering projects by developing software solutions; conducts tests and inspections; prepares reports and calculations. Expected to supervise base and associate level engineers as needed. Understands system protocols, how systems operate and data flows. Independently develops a full software stack. Identifies building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work. Independently studies current technology. Interacts with system engineers to define system requirements and automation needs. Utilizes DevOps-centric automation tools and technologies for CI/CD and configuration management in non-prod environments. Contributes to designs to implement new ideas using new frameworks to improve existing or new systems/processes. Reviews existing designs and processes to identify more efficient ways to complete workload with industry perspectives. Supports environment management, automated server provisioning, and pipeline configuration (VMs). Delivers software to improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of T-Mobile\'s services. Creates and manages dashboards for continuous monitoring and health checks of applications and underlying infrastructure, using monitoring feedback to improve service quality in non-production environments. Technical Writing: writes basic documentation on how technology works and prepares clear documentation for new code and systems. Documents systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption at the manager level. Contributes to future improvements of software delivery processes and operations, e.g., cloud enablement and use of microservices with containerization. Mentors and guides other Systems Reliability Engineers and vendor resources as needed. Contributes to technology strategy by evaluating new and existing options that support business goals and understanding current technology that supports those goals. Education and Work Experience
Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Required) 4-7 years of technical engineering experience (Required) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
