Overview
The Pathology Department is seeking a
Molecular Diagnostics Technologist
who, under the general supervision of the laboratory manager, performs a variety of both routine and complex clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established standards and procedures. These duties require a professional level of knowledge to properly execute and analyze results, especially where results are abnormal or atypical. Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Perform a variety of both routine and complex clinical and/or research laboratory tests on different specimens, including but not limited to blood, bone marrow, and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded specimens, in accordance with established standards and procedures. Prepare and determine the suitability of reagents following defined formulas and procedures. Document and report test results. Completes required logs and supporting documents. Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, including routine repairs, and notifies service personnel when more complex problems occur. Perform related general duties such as ordering supplies, general lab housekeeping, and maintaining safety records. Participate in the training of new employees, students, and physicians in laboratory methodology. Strictly comply with patient care and confidentiality policies, and HIPAA regulations. Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned. Technical Skills and Expected Level of Proficiency

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor\'s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field. One year\'s experience in a comparable laboratory performing relevant techniques. Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Preferred Qualifications
Molecular Biology (MB) ASCP certification. Classified Title: Molecular Diagnostics Technologist Role/Level/Range: ACRP/03/MC Starting Salary Range: $48,000 - $84,100 Annually ($55,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)
