Overview
Vali Incorporated seeks a highly qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic CDL Supervisor to join our team. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisor will support equipment maintenance and repair operations for U.S. Army Reserve missions. This position is responsible for supervising, diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining a variety of heavy power equipment, ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently in accordance with contract requirements and Army standards. This position analyzes malfunctions and performs complex repairs on equipment such as cranes, bulldozers, scrapers, power shovels, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, dredges, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools. The mechanic inspects and tests equipment to identify defects, disassembles and reassembles components using hoists and hand tools, and examines parts for wear or damage. Duties also include replacing defective engines and subassemblies, conducting tests to verify operating efficiency, and welding broken or damaged parts as needed. Responsibilities
Supervise personnel engaged in equipment maintenance, cleaning, assembly, and disassembly. Ensure safety standards are followed and maintenance records are accurate. Meet productivity goals and support maintenance operations for specialized machinery as needed (e.g., drilling, stripping, or continuous mining equipment). Perform duties in accordance with contract requirements and Army standards. Assist in repairs and maintenance of various heavy equipment and related systems. Operate and repair heavy equipment and forklifts up to 50,000 pounds lift capacity as required to troubleshoot faults and validate repairs. Understand and use safety items and personal protective equipment (PPE) and support the EHS safety program. Supervise employees in daily routine work functions and on-the-job training. Operate in environments requiring physical activity and varied noise levels, including lifting up to 50 pounds as needed. Qualifications
Must have at least 5 years of maintenance supervisory experience. High school graduate or equivalent. A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A). Must possess operational skill on the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A). Ability to analyze and interpret Army Technical Manuals related to vehicle maintenance and repairs. Comprehensive knowledge of Army logistical and automated data processing policies. Ability to analyze, develop, evaluate, advise, or promote improvements in logistical programs. Ability to establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress. Strong verbal and written communication skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, prepare reports, and work instructions. Ability to provide information and reports, resolve issues, and recommend actions to improve delivery of services to customers. Experience in performing audits. Must be a US citizen or eligible to work in the US. Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check. Must be able to pass random drug testing. Ability to supervise and work with teams in military or industrial environments. Education
High school graduate or equivalent is required. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Management, or related field is preferred. Preferred Experience/Education
Former U.S. Army or Army Reserve maintenance or logistics NCO (E6–E8). Experience with contractor operations in government-owned, government-operated (GOGO) facilities.
