Overview
The Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children in Orlando, Florida is seeking an experienced Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to lead the division of pediatric cardiac intensive care at AdventHealth for Children. Responsibilities
Further the growth of the Cardiac ICU program in alignment with the expanding surgical program. Mentor CICU physicians and develop quality improvement processes, standardizing care, and engaging stakeholders within the hospital and in the community. Allocate approximately 80% of clinical time in the CICU and 20% for leadership activity. Collaborate with the Medical Director of Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Surgery and work with the dedicated pediatric cardiology team (seven physicians). Lead a 15-bed Cardiac ICU providing post-surgical care with a projected annual case volume of 250; support includes interventional cardiology and electrophysiology cases requiring critical care services. AdventHealth also operates a 22-bed pediatric ICU with its own leadership structure and physician staff. The academic environment includes a pediatric residency program (launched in 2013) with twelve residents per year and clinical research opportunities. Requirements
At least five years of experience post-fellowship. Preferred experience leading a Cardiac Critical Care group or division. Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Critical Care. Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship or Cardiology Fellowship (preferred but not required). Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mentality. Practice Description
