Overview
The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is seeking a Full Time Heart Failure, Transplant and VAD Cardiologist in the Section of Heart Failure / Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. Clinical duties include inpatient Heart Failure, Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support services as well as outpatient Heart Failure, Heart Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support clinics. This role focuses on growing inpatient and outpatient services at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and USC Arcadia Hospital, with approximately 70% time at partner hospitals and 30% time at Keck Medical Center of USC and Los Angeles General Medical Center. Other duties may include outreach clinics and events, donor calls, and right heart catheterization/endomyocardial biopsy/CardioMEMS procedures tailored to the applicant’s experience. The faculty member will participate in the research and teaching activities of the Section and Division. Clinical practice and teaching facilities at USC include the Keck Medical Center of USC, LAC+USC Medical Center, and the USC Cardiac and Vascular Institute with programs in heart failure, percutaneous valve implants, structural heart disease, electrophysiology, congenital heart disease, and vascular and cardiothoracic surgery. The USC Heart Failure Program is active in heart transplant (40+ heart transplants, including multiorgan transplant), temporary circulatory support, and durable LVAD, and participates in several industry and investigator-initiated trials, with an ACGME-accredited Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology Fellowship Training Program. Qualifications MD/DO degree BC in Cardiovascular Medicine BC/BE in Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology Eligible for a California medical license Clinical experience at an academic medical center is recommended Compensation and appointment details: the successful candidate will receive competitive compensation and appointment in the Department of Medicine at an academic rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
