Overview
Position Title: 1.0 English Teacher Location: Standing Bear High School Commitment: One semester only Position Details: Standing Bear High School is looking for a dynamic individual who is willing to engage in the creation of a new school whose focus is on equitable learning outcomes for each student. The creation of a new school offers a unique opportunity to partner with the community to build a school culture honoring the history of Standing Bear, the Ponca Tribe, and other Native Tribes of Nebraska. Standing Bear High School is seeking an educator who possesses strong multi-model instructional tools, to work with students in grades 9 – 12. Additional skills needed include: Ability to create strong relationships with all students Effective communication skills Daily use of assessment to drive instruction and quality feedback to all learners Willingness to serve the Standing Bear High School Community in all aspects Learner in the art and science of teaching A reflective educator, an individual who understands the practices of cultural proficiency and applies those practices with students, staff, and families. Applicants' strengths should include: Strong verbal and written communication Systems thinking and analysis Instructional leadership A learner in terms of equity and equitable outcomes for all students An individual who can cultivate relationships within our staff, students, and families. The candidate will work collaboratively with their department chair and current building leadership, along with district leadership on Standing Bear in all aspects from culture/climate, mission/vision, and processes and program. Must qualify for, or hold, a Nebraska teaching certificate or provisional. Demonstrate successful teaching experience required with a commitment to working in a culturally diverse learning environment. Position to begin January, 2026 Lincoln Public Schools is seeking a candidate with a commitment to excellence in education. Candidate will possess an ability to establish a strong classroom environment that supports highly engaging instruction. Candidate will need to work collaboratively with multiple team members. A strong candidate for this position would have exceptional instructional and classroom management skills, demonstrate effective communication skills and strong academic/curriculum skills, use assessment to drive instruction, provide quality feedback to all learners, as well as a desire to teach in a culturally rich school environment. Ability to create strong relationships with all students; effective communication skills; daily use of assessment to drive instruction and quality feedback to all learners; willingness to serve the community in all aspects; learner in the art and science of teaching; a reflective educator, an individual who understands the practices of cultural proficiency and applies those practices with students, staff and families.
