Monitor system health and report any anomalies for evaluation and action. Provide basic support in addressing inquiries and technical issues. Assist with installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, software, and essential IT infrastructure. Requirements

Conditions of employment

Must be a U.S. Citizen. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual. This is a drug testing position. This is a mission essential position. This position requires shift work. Travel is occasional. Shift work is required. This national security position requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination. Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

Applicants must possess either education, or IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies appropriate to, or above, the level of this position. For vacancies below the full-performance level, the basic requirement will be evaluated on a developmental basis. Your resume and work experience should clearly support your ability to meet these competencies and will be evaluated as part of the entire application process. GG-11 Undergraduate or Graduate Education:

Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of those fields and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. OR Attention to Detail

– experience reviewing IT-related work or data to ensure accuracy and consistency with standards. Customer Service

– experience having brief contact with customers to provide information about IT products and services. Oral Communication

– experience informing supervisors and IT staff of status and communicating technical information to a non-technical audience. Problem Solving

– identifying or selecting alternatives to address routine IT issues. GG-12 Attention to Detail

– experience reviewing own and others’ IT-related work for accuracy and consistency. Customer Service

– experience maintaining relationships and identifying IT products/services for customer needs. Oral Communication

– ability to brief management and IT staff on status of systems and projects. Problem Solving

– identifying alternatives to address complex IT issues. AND Qualifying Experience: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must possess qualifying experience as defined for GG-11 or GG-12 levels and demonstrated in their resume. For GG-11: experience performing IT customer support activities such as working with ticketing systems, incident management, and account access management. For GG-12: experience ensuring that installation, configuration, and security of operating systems and administration of cloud-based environments align with the IT framework. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date. Education

Substitution of Education for Experience:

A Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in one of these fields. If you are using education to substitute for the qualifying experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply. Education must be from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Foreign education requirements apply as specified. There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-12 grade level. Additional information

This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment. This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to the competitive service. A three-year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period. Management has the prerogative to select at either grade level. This recruitment provides promotion opportunity to target position without further competition when selectee is eligible and recommended by management. Promotion is not guaranteed. Telework availability will be based upon mission requirements and supervisory determination. Drug testing for designated positions may be required prior to appointment.
