Overview

Starting Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year based on experience plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Environment: Special Education Program, Grades K-5. ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking an Intervention Specialist to join the Special Education team and support student growth in a collaborative educational setting. Lead the instructional process for students in Grades K-5 with IEPs, designing dynamic, personalized learning experiences within the learning center and/or classroom. Deliver targeted instruction, utilize innovative curriculum resources, integrate educational software, and create comprehensive lesson plans aligned to state and school standards. Create an inclusive, collaborative environment involving students, parents, colleagues, and administrators. Establish a classroom climate of mutual respect and clear expectations, emphasizing social development and positive group interactions through PBIS. Implement and reinforce PBIS strategies, behavior expectations, reward systems, and appropriate consequences. Track and document student progress, maintain accurate files, and generate reports detailing student achievements and activities. Deliver differentiated instruction individually or in a co-teaching setting to meet IEP goals. Adapt curriculum and instructional approaches to accommodate diverse learning styles; provide guidance on differentiation methods. Utilize varied instructional methods, resources, and software to support diverse student needs. Manage caseloads, develop and implement IEPs, goals, and interventions. Prepare detailed daily lesson plans and organize instructional materials aligned to standards and student objectives. Maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming classroom, managing supplies and resources effectively. Stay informed on current research-based instructional practices in special education and relevant subject areas to enhance effectiveness. Respond to feedback from formal evaluations and observations and pursue ongoing professional growth. Support the school community by performing additional duties as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, special education, or a related field. Meet all Ohio state teaching license and/or certification requirements; licensed currently or in process of obtaining an Ohio state special education credential. Experience with curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction, preferably in a special education classroom. Knowledge of special education services and compliance for students with severe learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, and emotional disturbance. Experience with IEPs and developing effective education plans for diverse learners. Ability to motivate students and conduct critical conversations to move toward goals. Strong oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in emergencies and make independent decisions. Knowledge of technology, including instructional software, Microsoft Office, database entry, and office equipment. Perks and Benefits
