Guidance Center of Lea County, Inc. Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Medical Director plays a key senior management role in planning, developing, organizing, and directing all programs at the Guidance Center of Lea County (GCLC). The role involves acting as the medical director and advisor for all behavioral health clinical programs, overseeing compliance with community standards of care, state and federal laws, and regulatory requirements. The Medical Director provides psychiatric expertise for complex cases and quality assurance systems. Responsibilities include:

Planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating GCLCs mental health and substance abuse programs. Developing departmental goals, objectives, and policies. Ensuring staff training aligns with current behavioral health standards and licensure requirements. Consulting on program planning, service design, and evaluation. Serving as Medical Director for all clinical and behavioral health services at GCLC. Participating in staff and departmental meetings to ensure quality care and service delivery, including utilization review. Ensuring compliance with documentation and billing requirements. Performing any other special assignments as directed. Required Skills and Abilities:

Current clinical practice in psychiatry, including recovery models, evidence-based treatments, and dual diagnosis approaches involving clients and families. Knowledge of behavioral health treatment modalities used in community-based prevention and treatment systems. Ability to evaluate mental health and substance use treatment programs effectively. Understanding of behavioral health issues and service delivery. Skills in developing, implementing, and coordinating behavioral health services. Providing clinical supervision and guidance to licensed and certified staff. Education and Experience:

Medical degree (M.D.) from an accredited medical school recognized by the National Board of Medical Examiners. Certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Unrestricted medical license in New Mexico. Compliance with Medical Practice Act and certification by the New Mexico Medical Board. Controlled Substance Registration Certificate from the DEA. Significant experience in developing medical policies, procedures, and programs. Strong understanding of clinical management and behavioral health services, with current expert medical and psychiatric knowledge. Additional Details:
