Key Job Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Communications
Draft and refine strategy papers, target letters, and executive communications that articulate the Marketing team’s vision, priorities, and performance.
Develop Quarterly Business Review (QBR) presentations and other executive-level materials that synthesize progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Ensure consistent messaging and alignment across internal and external communications.
Operational Excellence
Own and manage the Marketing team’s budget, partnering with Finance and department leads to ensure fiscal discipline and transparency.
Monitor and improve team workflows, meeting cadences, and decision-making processes to reduce friction and increase velocity.
Track key initiatives and ensure follow-through on commitments across the organization.
Track key marketing initiatives to ensure alignment with strategic goals and timely execution.
Manage the development of Monthly Business Review (MBR) submissions, coordinating inputs across the team and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials.
Leadership Enablement
Serve as a thought partner to the CMO, helping to shape agendas, prepare for key engagements, and drive strategic initiatives forward.
Act as a connector across Marketing sub-functions and cross-functional partners, ensuring collaboration and accountability.
Identify and resolve bottlenecks that hinder team performance or alignment.
Qualifications
Proven experience in strategic planning, communications, and operational management—ideally within a Marketing or corporate strategy environment.
Exceptional writing and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives.
Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Trusted collaborator with executive presence and discretion.
Skills
Data Gathering and Analysis:
Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques and processes; ability to gather and analyze data on the learning needs of a target population.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking:
Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Financial Analysis:
Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Influencing:
Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
Market Research:
Knowledge of market research; ability to collect, collate and analyze information about existing or potential markets and market needs.
Planning: Tactical, Strategic:
Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational, tactical and strategic planning in support of the overall business plan.
Compensation Base salary range: $120,000 – $180,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.
