Registered Nurse, Maternal Child Health
Boston Medical Center (BMC) is a Magnet® recognized organization and the largest trauma and safety net hospital in New England. As a registered nurse (RN) in the Maternal Child Health Department, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional, evidence‑based care to patients, families, and the community across units including Labor & Delivery, Mother‑Baby, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, and Inpatient Pediatrics.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver nursing care in the Maternal Child Health Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
Update and manage patient records and enter/inter‑pret computerized data.
Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
Assist the leadership team with quality improvement projects as needed.
Job Requirements
Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Maternal Child Health experience required.
Certification in basic life support (BLS).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for certain units.
RNs with a Diploma, ASN, or BSN are preferred; ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years is required.
Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification required for certain practice areas.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Physical ability to perform job responsibilities.
Basic computer proficiency.
Fluency in another language is a plus.
