Job Summary
The Sourcing Manager is responsible for the creation and execution of Oldcastle Infrastructure's end-to-end commodity sourcing strategy for assigned categories that align with strategic and operational procurement initiatives. The incumbent will identify cost reduction opportunities through negotiation or alternate sourcing, create competitive environments, and negotiate agreements that assure seamless material availability required to achieve organizational objectives while maintaining strategic relationships. As a key member of the Procurement team, the Sourcing Manager will work with operational and business leaders as well as CRH Category teams to support and implement clear, cohesive strategies that achieve year-over-year improvements in input cost, supplier quality, and organizational performance. The Sourcing Manager will execute on the group and corporate objectives within the Business Performance team, including supporting the centralized procurement model.
Job Responsibilities
Collaborate and align with CRH Category teams to leverage national and global scale of procurement resources and initiatives. Provide monthly reporting on savings, cost avoidance, key initiatives, and projects.
Analyze available procurement data including year-over-year spending trends, spend by business unit/division, spend by supplier, number of suppliers, price variance, and transactional volumes.
Lead strategic sourcing activity for assigned category portfolio, identifying opportunities for cost reductions or process enhancements.
Assess external market conditions and conduct analysis (e.g., should-cost model) to determine sourcing opportunities and risks.
Lead supply partner negotiations establishing favorable pricing, terms, and conditions while ensuring required organizational service levels are achieved.
Serve as escalation point for the Procurement team and business for supply partner performance and quality issues. Own supplier relationships and take action to deliver value.
Provide supplier performance data and conduct business reviews with key suppliers. Include supplier audits and qualification visits as needed.
Serve as a market expert of the assigned category portfolio and communicate updates in demand or cost.
Coordinate with teams to implement strategic sourcing initiatives such as Master Purchase Agreements (MPA), Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Consignment, and other actions that improve cost structure.
Assist in the adoption and implementation of corporate initiatives.
Ensure service levels are achieved and continuous improvement efforts are implemented locally and nationally.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred experience in polymer, polyolefin, and compound chemicals.
4+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or purchasing.
Experience establishing business processes, managing performance, and supplier relationship management.
Proven record of procurement and cost management across goods and services, and understanding of the entire procurement cycle.
Strong leadership skills and ability to maintain wide-ranging multi-site relationships at all organizational levels.
Demonstrated ability to achieve positive results through influence, persuasion, leadership, presentations, training, and facilitation.
Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
